Christmas singing in Fulda: 10,000 visitors celebrate in the snow!
On Saturday evening, December 16, 2023, over 10,000 visitors flocked to the cathedral square in Fulda for the festive Christmas singing. Just in time for the event, some snowflakes fell, which additionally enchanted the ambience and created a fantastic backdrop. The event was organized by the Kreuz cultural center in cooperation with the Catholic Citypastoral and the Evangelical Kreuzkirche and offered a mixture of classic Christmas carols, which were presented by the band Soundaholics and the children's choir of the city parish under the direction of Johannes Haubs. Along the stage, large displays provided along with well-visible song texts, while QR codes were distributed to make it easier for visitors to access the lyrics, such as the Fuldaer Zeitung reported.
festive mood and solidarity
At this event, families, seniors and children gathered with colorful Christmas accessories on the cathedral square. The organizers hope to exceed the public number of 6,000 visitors in the previous year. Pastor Stefan Bürger expressed optimistic that "we would also make it without Roland Kaiser" to fill the place, even if the weather challenged some visitors. The event served not only the entertainment, but also to support social projects, since the collected donations of the child and youth work of the Kreuzkirche and the Fuldaer Tafel benefit, as well as from Osthessen News reported. On Sunday, December 17th, the festive hustle and bustle continues with a flashlight concert by the Berlin band Rumpelstil and the bonus choir, which invites families to transform the cathedral square into a sparkling sea of lights. Here, too, the possibility is used to support social projects by benefiting the collected donations to the local initiatives.
