Athletic high school: hundreds celebrate at the sports badge competition!

The gymnasium of the SG Johannesberg turned into a radiant festival of athletes on Friday evening. At the final event of the sports badge competition, organized by the Fulda-Hünfeld sports district, around 200 families with over 600 participants came together to celebrate the sporting success. Among the guests of honor were Lothar Plappert, the chairman of SG Johannesberg, and the mayor of Hünfeld, Benjamin Tschesnok, who praised the impressive number of participants and announced the motto "The sport connects us". There were applause not only for the athletes, but also for the performances of the Fulda Saintsation Cheerleaders and the Rhönrad gymnasts who delighted the audience, like Osthessen news

Numerous honors were issued during the celebration: eight examiners who are in use between 25 and 45 were honored for their many years of activity. Karl Eldner, who has been a examiner for 45 years, was particularly outstanding. In addition, 31 graduates were awarded that the sports badge made between 20 and 55 times, including Wolfgang Kühnert, who has achieved impressive 55 sports badges. A total of 2,902 sports badges have been stored so far, which is a slight decline compared to the previous year, but does not reduce the enthusiasm of the participants.

As part of the competition, the TV Flieden was recognized as the most sporting club, while the city administration of Fulda provided the largest group of participants with 57 participants, among which there were also 25 firefighters. The event also offered a raffle with vouchers and prices for companies and families, which further promoted the team spirit and the community within the athletes.
