Niederrode wins in the competition Our village has a future - a feast of the community!
In the Niederrode village community center, the mood was electrifying on November 24, 2024! Realous faces and a room that was filled to the last seat everywhere. The committed citizens who work tirelessly for the future of their villages were celebrated in the highly expected award ceremony of the regional decision "Our village has a future". The district of Fulda had invited to this festive occasion, and the atmosphere was characterized by a warm community and pride.
Mayor Dr. Heiko Wingenfeld praised the "cozy cohesion" and thanked the active, especially the Siegerdorf Niederrode, which now represents the city of Fulda. District Administrator Bernd Woide was passionate about the strengths of rural areas and emphasized that people in these communities are the real anchors of society. "Home is lived here, and that without laws or regulations," he said, and honored the efforts of the 14 participating villages who have proven to be in an exciting competition.The winners are determined!
The jury, consisting of the "glorious nine", had the difficult task of choosing the best villages. The first five places were assessed in different categories such as infrastructure and social engagement:
- 1. Place: Fulda-Niederrode-5,000 euros from the state of Hesse, 2,500 euros from the city of Fulda and 1,000 euros from the district of Fulda.
- 2. Place: Wächtersbach-Neudorf-4,000 euros from the state plus 1,000 euros from the city of Wächtersbach.
- 3. Place: Eichenzell-Rothemann-3,000 euros from the country, 1,000 euros from the district of Fulda.
- 4. Place: Schluechtern-Breitenbach-2,000 euros from the country.
- 5. Place: Burghaun-Großenmoor-1,000 euros from the country, 1,000 euros from the district of Fulda.
