Wiesbaden – A creative fireworks display of youth literature lights up the stage! The writing competition “Without Period and Comma” honored the best talents from Hesse, and the excitement was palpable! On Sunday, the beaming winners were honored at the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt. Two talented students from East Hesse shine among the award winners: Lara Hey from Fulda and Theresa Wieland from Schlüchtern-Hohenzell. Their texts, which range from a poem about infinity to captivating horror stories, show the diversity and creativity of the young authors!
"Without a point and a comma" is aimed at 12 to 15 year olds and is an exciting collaboration between the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Art and Culture and the Hessian Literature Forum in the Mousonturm e.V. State Secretary Christoph Degen praised the impressive contributions: "The authors deal with their environment in their texts, take on new perspectives and try to understand other opinions. This strengthens your own empathy and shows once again that art and culture have a lasting impact have an effect on all of us.”
The shining winners
A total of 379 young people took part in the competition and the jury selected 20 outstanding prize winners. The first place winners can look forward to 350 euros in prize money, while the second place winners will receive 250 euros. Your winning texts will be published in a prize winner anthology! A special highlight: Class G8a of the Gutenbergschule Darmstadt receives a special prize for their excellent contributions and wins a writing workshop!
