Hessen celebrates: 14 villages in the final Our village has a future!

Fulda-Niederrode, Deutschland - Wiesbaden (PM/GÜ) - A radiant success for 14 Hessian villages in the federal competition "Our village has a future"! Minister of Home Ingmar Jung congratulated congratulations to the winners of the regional sheath, who were able to assert themselves from 82 participants and are now able to look forward to the state decision in the coming year. Among the winners there are also well-known places such as Fulda-Niederrode, Schwalmtal-Storndorf and Grebenhain-Metzlos. These villages have impressively demonstrated how much commitment and creativity are in their communities.

"The village communities did extraordinary things!", enthused young and emphasized that the many innovative ideas of the citizens are an answer to the challenges of today. In particular, the focus is on integrating young people and ensuring services of general interest in rural areas. "The future of rural regions lies in the hands of the people who shape their own fate. The competition recognizes these great ideas and serves as inspiration for other villages," he added.

The evaluation commission will travel through Hesse in June 2025, led by the Kassel regional council to choose the best villages. The regional winners can look forward to a prize money of 5000 euros, while the ultimate winning village in the state decision can even win 7,000 euros.
