Conference in Fulda: Honor and violence in intercultural dialogue
an outcry against violence in the name of honor! On November 27th, the highly expected conference “Violence without Honor - Honor without Violence” will take place in the Bonifatiushaus in Fulda. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., experts and interested parties will come together to discuss social norms and the protection of victims in an intercultural context. The event not only promises exciting lectures, but also five interactive workshops that deal with the complex topic of honorary violence.
The conference is directed by renowned speakers who illuminate topics such as the role of honor as a social norm and victim protection for girls and young women. Particular attention is paid to the prevention work and the masculinity concepts that play a central role in today's society. The workshops offer participants the opportunity to explore different perspectives and to develop action options in order to act against violence in the name of honor.

But that's not all! There are several accompanying events around the conference that further deepen the topic. On November 20, the film "Elaha" will be shown in the Fulda cinema 35, which tells the moving story of a 22-year-old German Kurdish. Another highlight is the documentary "Lost honor - the wrong path of the Sürücü family", which will be performed on November 21 in the category in Lauterbach. Director Jo Goll will then be available for questions and discussions.
And the finale of the series? On December 2, the psychologist and author Ahmad Mansour in the Fürstensaal of the city palace in Fulda will talk about “against false tolerance and panicism”. These events are part of the federal program "Live democracy!" And offer a platform for an important dialogue about violence, honor and the role of society.
