Dental scandals: anesthetist in suspicion after deaths!

Stand: 07.10.2024 07:32 pm

In connection with the death of four -year -old Emilia in 2021 in a dental practice in Kronberg, a scandalous case is the focus of the public. The responsible anesthetist is already criticized, since more and more other patients report serious complications after his interventions. Before Emilia's death, the authorities were informed about problems with the doctor, but continued to have him practiced, which raises questions about the responsibility.

Jessica Steinbacher from Lindenfels, who was also treated under the anesthetic doctor in 2019 due to jaw operation, describes her experiences. After anesthesia, she suffered from severe headaches and memory gaps. However, her family remembered the dramatic circumstances immediately after the procedure, which ultimately led to life -threatening blood poisoning. The doctor's clinical mistakes seem to have occurred several times and ask the question of security and supervision on medical practice in Hesse.

The terrifying course of Jessica Steinbacher's treatment

After the unfortunate intervention in practice, Jessica Steinbacher received help from the emergency services at night. Instead of saving the victim of unsuccessful anesthesia, the anesthetist caused several serious medical complications. Steinbacher's mother reports of a shattering sight: after the treatment, her daughter looked like "the bodyy death". The life of Jessica was ultimately saved in the Heidelberg University Hospital.

The court hearing in Frankfurt on Emilia's case not only illuminates the mistakes of the anesthetic doctor, but also that of the authorities. During the process, numerous other patients were heard who reported serious aftermath of his treatments. This development raises serious questions about his continued permitted work, while earlier deaths and complications were in the room.

As part of the negotiations, the circumstances that led to the punishment of the doctor about negligent homicide were also highlighted. This affected a similar case in which a patient died during a tooth operation. The crucial point was the poor compression of blood pressure, which ultimately led to cardiac arrest. In this case, too, the legal aftermath was perceived as inadequate.

The investigation by the Darmstadt public prosecutor's office against the practices of the anesthetist were discontinued after a while, since no sufficient evidence of misconduct was found. In particular, the claim that the patient Jessica Steinbacher could have infected herself caused a lack of understanding among the families concerned. "If they had taken my daughter seriously at the time, the child could still live," said her mother Gabriele with the words of her grief and frustration.

The latest legal proceedings have brought a flood of new cases to light. These stories of patients who suffered from the hands of the anesthetist illustrate a clearer picture of the problem: at least eleven people have claimed health damage according to their anesthesia, which shows that this is not an isolated case.

In addition, the Mainz public prosecutor emphasized that investigations against the anesthetist were carried out in September 2021. However, allegations that he may have applied violence against another patient were also hired. As a result, he remains unpunished, despite the serious events.

The Frankfurt Regional Court also wants to take into account the incidents in Mannheim and Mainz as part of the proceedings. The repeated allegations against the anesthetist not only raise legal questions, but also ethical concerns about the protective measures of the health system.

While the legal steps continue and the responsible authorities are criticized, the image of a healthcare system that does not offer sufficient protection for the patient remains strongly in the memory of the affected people. The accused's lawyers have not yet commented on the new allegations. www.tagesschau.de Report developments.
