District Bergstraße promotes midwives: A new glimmer of hope for families!
An exciting moment for the midwives in the Bergstrasse district! During a visit to the birthplace, the first district deputy and health director Angelika Beckenbach presented funding notices to the new midwives Annika Brock and Hanna Kriegs. This support is a crucial step to secure the initial equipment in the aftercare area and to appreciate the important work of the midwives. Since 2019, the Bergstrasse district has been actively committed to promoting the establishment of midwives and thus improving care for expectant mothers and young families.
After their studies, the two midwives decided not only to take over the outstanding puerperium care, but also to accompany out of outdoor births in the Bergstrasse. Your goal? Strengthening women and families during this special time and enabling every child to start an optimal start. With the current funding, eight midwives in the Bergstrasse district have already received support, which underlines the positive development in the region.
a valuable contribution to young families
"I am pleased that you have decided to settle down as a midwife independently here in the district. You make a valuable contribution to young families. The birthplace itself is a midwife -managed facility that offers a valuable alternative to home births or delivery in the hospital. Over 130 children already saw the light of day there, and many mothers have already born their second child in this loving environment.
The birthplace not only offers birth accompaniment, but also comprehensive courses and advice for young families, regardless of where they give birth to their child. This initiative is a ray of hope for everyone who is looking for support in the exciting period of pregnancy and birth!
