On November 18, 2024, the coveted "XY Prize-Together against Crime" was awarded in the ZDF main studio! Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser honored impressive nine brave personalities for her heroic effort in three outstanding cases. These fearless people have risked their lives to help others and stop shocking crimes!
Among the award winners are Emma Hufnagel, Maika Janat-Vennemann and Elvira Bunzel, who uncovered the years of abuse of a sex offender in the Wetterau district and brought him to the route. At the same time, Leon Jamal Zeid, Mohamed Ibrahim, Ahmad Fair, Argjend Klimmenta and Kiana Frede in Sulingen saved a woman from safe death! In addition, Andreas Bichert saved a newborn baby in Langenau near Ulm in front of the cruel end in an old glass container. True lifesaver!

ZDF program director Dr. Nadine Bilke praised the courage of the award winners: "With their brave intervention, our award winners have preserved other, unknown people from worse. They set an extremely important sign in our society - civil courage saves life!" The award ceremony, moderated by Rudi Cerne, took place in a solemn framework, with prominent laudators like the actress Christina Hecke, who paid tribute to the brave citizens.
The "XY Prize" has been awarded by ZDF and the production company Securitel since 2002 to publicly appreciate the exemplary behavior of courageous people. Every year, three people or groups are rewarded with 10,000 euros each - a total of 93 citizens have already been honored! This year's heroes can be seen on December 11, 2024 at 8:15 p.m. in the live broadcast "File number XY ... unresolved" where they will talk about their heroic action.
