Christmas cap in Dallmin: Together against children's cancer!
in Dallmin will take place on Sunday, December 15th, the fourth Christmas cap run. This important charity event organized by Nicole Ullmann and TuS Dallmin starts at 10 a.m. on the sports field and collects donations for the children's cancer "Knack den Krebs" at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf. Dog owners can also take part with their animals on the route of one kilometer for children and six kilometers for adults. Ullmann, who can already record over 120 pre -registrations, is confident that the number of participants will outperform the previous year in which around 100 runners were there.
background of the fundraising campaign
The idea for this run came from a personal experience when Ullmann's daughter Frieda 2020 had to be treated due to inflammation and came into contact with many other seriously ill children during her stay. "Although my daughter was not ill with cancer, this time motivated us to do something good and draw attention to the Situation of children with cancer," explains Ullmann. In their first run, which took place in 2020, 1000 euros could already be collected, and this year, too, the income, which was over 4,000 euros for previous runs, should benefit psychological care and cancer research.
The atmosphere in the Christmas cap run is enriched by numerous supporters and participants, including known faces of the Prignitz. In addition, hot sausages and drinks as well as a cake stand by Ullmann's daughter Frida are organized to take care of the physical well -being. The sporting thoughts take a back seat here, because it is all about support for children with cancer and the fun of moving together. "The run is a celebration of solidarity and a sign of hope," says Ullmann.
