Max Eberl, the sports director of the record champions, was optimistic about the conversations. "It is not my job to persuade a player. It is my job to convince him," continued Eberl. So while negotiations with Kimmich are running promising, the situation around Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané and Eric dier remains uncertain, as their contracts also expire in summer. According to Eberl, there have yet been no discussions about any extension.
