Strong women, strong economy: Coordination office secures the future!

In the Harburg district, the coordination office Ms. and Economy remains an indispensable backbone for women who want to get back into their professional life after the family phase. The head Andrea Kowalewski and District Administrator Rainer Rempe underlined the importance of this facility that not only supports women in professional orientation, but also helps companies to create family -friendly working conditions. A new cooperation agreement ensures the continuation of the valuable work of this point of contact, which has been working in Winsen and Buchholz since it was founded in 2008.

The coordination office is financed by 70 percent of EU and state funds through the European Social Fund (ESF), while the remaining 30 percent are borne by the district, city of Buchholz and the company network Ms. and Economy Harburg e.V. "Here women will find competent contacts and an extensive range of advice," emphasizes Rempe. The support ranges from individual application coaching to tips for reconciling work and family. The demand is great: almost 100 women were advised last year, and over 380 participants visited seminars and workshops.

diverse offers for women

The coordination office not only offers advice, but also a comprehensive training program and network work. Events are organized together with partners such as the employment agency and the family offices in Buchholz and Winsen, who support women in their professional career. "The advisory and information offers are well received," says Kowalewski. This initiative is not only a ray of hope for women in the Harburg district, but also an important step in the fight against the shortage of skilled workers by keeping qualified workers in the region.
