HVV HOP remains: Elektro-Sammeltaxis secure mobility in Harburg!

Citizens in the Harburg area can look forward to good news: the collective taxi trips with the Service HVV HOP will continue in the coming year. The Hamburg traffic authority, which is responsible for these trips, recently confirmed this, which is important for both commuters and casual drivers.

originally introduced under the name Ioki, the striking white minibuses, which are reminiscent of London taxis, have been in use in Harburg since January 2023. These electric vehicles transport passengers to important stops such as train stations and bus stops and thus offer flexible and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional local transport. The order takes place conveniently via the HVV app, with an additional charge of two euros in addition to the regular HVV ticket.

growing demand and state support

The collective taxi offer is financed by promoting the Federal Ministry of Transport, which has provided 18 million euros. This support enables the traffic authority to maintain the service next year. Anjes Tjarks, traffic senator of the city of Hamburg, emphasizes the relevance of such offers: "The great demand shows us that such offers are important to beat the bridge for classic local transport." So far, 300,000 passengers have already used the HVV HOP Service, especially for travel routes between the Harburg train station and the Heimfeld, Eißendorf, Wilstorf, Langenbek and Rönneburg. With this decision, the traffic authority will continue to offer the citizens in Harburg a practical and efficient means of transport that not only supplements local public transport, but also contributes to reducing private transport.
