Harburg shines: Festive actions and Christmas magic are waiting!

Harburg. The festive anticipation in Harburg is tangible! The majestic Christmas fir in front of the town hall is set up and marks the beginning of a series of magical Advent actions that will transform the city into a radiant sea of lights.

The Harburg city center is preparing for the magical Christmas season, while the days are getting shorter and the longing for warmth and cosiness grows. Last Saturday the impressive, 13 meter high Nordmann fir was set up on the Rathausplatz. "I am thrilled, the 30 -year -old fir is a slim beauty," enthuses the boss of the Christmas market, Anne Rehberg. Preparations are in full swing, because until the opening of the Christmas market on November 21, the fir will be decorated with sparkling lights and shine over the small Christmas village.

Just a few days after the fir line, the city center will shine in new splendor. "We are looking forward to new lights for downtown Harburg," announced City manager Antonia Marmon. Thanks to a trainee project by the Harburg electric company Ernst Busch, the Christmas lights are fundamentally renewed. On the evening of November 25th, the start of the winter light will be celebrated together with everyone involved, and the atmospheric Christmas stars will shine in the evening.

Another highlight will be the magnificently decorated Christmas tree on the canal square in the inland port, which will awaken the anticipation for the first time. In addition, the popular "X-Mas Wall" will return to the Gloria tunnel on November 30th. This unique Christmas artwork, which was created in the Corona winter 2022, will shine with a special night-light color and guarantees a selfie hotspot.

Advent calendar and Santa Claus visit

From December 1st to December 24th, the “Entrepreneurs Without Borders” Initiative will organize an advent calendar in downtown Harburg, in which new surprises are waiting for visitors every day. On December 7th, Santa Claus will run in the niche in the inland harbor and bring sweets for the children. The parents are not neglected either: in the Harburg Info there is the opportunity to try the legendary tree cake and look forward to the new Harburg wine.
