Planbude provides: St. Pauli receives a new residential project with ESSO houses!

A huge step for Hamburg! After a decade of waiting and planning, the controversial project on the site of the former “Esso-Houses” in St. Pauli finally becomes concrete. The Saga Group and Quantum Immobilien AG have big plans: affordable living space, creative space and a new hotel are to be built here. The takeover of the area from the Bavarian Hausbau Development is planned for the end of 2024, as the Authority for Urban Development and Living announced on Monday.

The anticipation increases, because the necessary building permits are to be granted by the end of 2025, followed by the start of construction! Urban development senator Karen Pein, finance senator Andreas Dressel and district manager Ralf Neubauer will present the exciting plans in the morning. A new chapter for St. Pauli is imminent!

The Planbude, which on behalf of the Mitte district, represented the interests of the residents, withdraws from the project after ten years. This participation model was one of the most respected in Hamburg and focused on the voices of the citizens. Now it is due to Saga and Quantum to implement the visions into reality and to change the face of the quarter sustainably.
