The city is excellently equipped when winter becomes uncomfortable. Impressive 10,000 tons of road salt are stored in the central Salzhalle of Hamburg! The last winter brought a new innovation: the use of liquid soles - an environmentally friendly solution that stays on the streets around the clock and at the same time needs less salt!

Gries are used on the bike paths and on sidewalks without residents. This is done for environmental reasons, because the use of salt is strictly prohibited there. In addition, winter service takes care of the snow and ice freedom at bus stops so that everyone is safe.
