The state and university library on the campus of the University of Hamburg will be renovated for a whopping 20 million euros. The Senate has now made the decision to repair the leaky roof of the library in order to make the valuable educational institution fit for the future.

The renovation work is scheduled for the period from 2025 to 2027. But that's just the beginning! In the 2030s, the entire library is to be completely renovated, as science senator Katharina Fegebank explained in a press release. These measures are part of a comprehensive plan to make the Hamburg universities sustainable.

Before the work can begin, the funds must be approved by the Hamburg Citizenship. A decisive vote is in mid -December, as the press spokesman for the Hamburg tax authority confirmed.
