Autobahnkreuz Bargteheide: 59 hours blocking for bridge tear!

The Bargteheide motorway junction is closed for 59 hours at the weekend. The closure lasts from Friday, January 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. to Monday, January 13, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. The reason for this measure is the demolition of an old bridge that leads the A21 over the A1. This bridge was built in 1966 and no longer corresponds to the current transport requirements. Around 77,000 vehicles pass the A1 and approx. 28,000 the A21 on the Bargteheide motorway junction every day.

The road users have to expect longer travel times, which is why Autobahn GmbH recommends not to do without any mandatory trips. A large -scale diversion system has been set up that is easily recognizable for the users. Road users can navigate based on a colored point system:

  • red dots: towards Hamburg from the north.
  • Green dots: towards Wismar and Rostock from the greater Hamburg area.

The traffic on the A21/B404 towards the south is led to the A24 via the A1 to the Barsbüttel junction and further via K80 to the Reinbek junction. In the direction of Kiel, the traffic is led single -lane via a makeshift bridge. However, the construction work could be postponed if the frost persistently, such as NDR reported .

In addition, a message from Autobahn.de , that the full closure applies to both the A1 in both directions and for the A21/B404 towards the south. The road users are asked to follow the signposted diversions and to adjust to longer travel times. Derirandings were also set up for regional traffic around the Bargteheide motorway junction.
