Founder boom in Styria: 13 new companies every day!
The economic landscape in Styria shows impressive developments! The foundation figures for companies have experienced a remarkable upswing. In 2024, around 1,300 more new foundations were recorded than a decade ago. In particular, the "transport industry" hit a nerve with a plus of a third, while the gastronomy also flourishes with an increase of almost twelve percent. Such figures show the innovative strength even in economically difficult times, as the Council of Economics Barbara Eibinger-Miedl emphasized: "We live in economically challenging times. And in these technological upheavals in which we are in ourselves, we also have the chance that new business ideas are being developed and implemented here," reported Orf Styria .
wedding of the start-ups
Start-ups have stunned opportunities in this tense situation! Oliver Kröpfl from Styrian Bank explains that the falling interest attracts more investors who are looking for attractive investment options. This emphasizes the relevance of this start -up shaft. The survival rate of the new companies is gratifyingly high: 13 companies are founded in Styria per day, and after five years, 70 percent of them survived. These successes show that the founding spirit remains strong despite our challenging economic situation, said WK President Josef Herk.
Corporate demography in Germany, on the other hand, looks at the dynamics of start -ups and closures on the market. From 2018, a new definition of the term “company” was introduced, which now enables international comparisons. These new guidelines allow constant methodology and a deeper analysis of the regional economic structures. Such systematic approaches, such as the official statistics on company start -ups and their closures, prepared at the regional level are of important importance because they provide decision -relevant data and can be clearly seen in connection with the developments in Styria, as Destatis.de explained.
