Services for Epiphany: Celebration with vocals and spirituality

On the first Sunday of the year, January 5, 2025, two important services from Austria will be broadcast live on television and radio. ORF III and the ORF regional radios broadcast the high festival service "Appearance of the Lord" from the picturesque Benedictine pen Lambach in Upper Austria. Under the direction of Abbot Maximilian Neulinger, pastoral assistant Birgit Feldbauer-Durstmüller and Deacon Christoph Schiemer celebrate this festive service. Musically it is designed by the children's church choir and the star singers under the experienced hands of Sandra Hermes and Ruth Zizlavsky. The culinary and cultural treasures of the Benedictine pen, especially the impressive Romanesque frescoes, offer a unique background for the solemn occasion, while the star of Bethlehem is symbolically the focus, as Kathpress reported.

Before, on December 31, 2024, the Sunday mass will be broadcast live from the parish of Hochgallmig in Tyrol, with pastor Andreas Tausch and Deacon Nikolaus Marth together. The "Insieme" choir under the musical direction of Elisabeth Birlmair will enrich the fair with different instrumental and choir pieces. These services are not only pursued by the faithful in the churches, but can also be contacted via telephone to have conversations and clarify inquiries, calls from Austria, Germany and Switzerland can be accepted, such as katholisch.at reported.

On July 21, the Sunday mass from the parish church in Pinkafeld will be broadcast live, which is led by Pastor Norbert Filipitsch. Here, too, a children's choir will help to accompany the service musically. At the same time, there is another service in the Salzburg Cathedral, which is broadcast at the Salzburg Festival, whereby Bischofsvikar Gerhard Viehhauser and Deacon Dino Bachmeier celebrate him.
