French film week in Munich: cinema sequence that inspire!
In the middle of the European crisis mood, the French cinema blooms like never before! The current cash hits are not from Hollywood, but from France itself! Over 20 million cinema tickets were sold for the two blockbusters "un p’tit truc en plus" ("What is normal?") And the new edition of "The Count of Monte Christo". The love and crime drama "L’Amour Ouf" ("Beating Hearts") by Gilles Lellouche also attracts the masses and has already inspired four million viewers. And not to forget: "Emilia Pérez", the Oscar hope of master director Jacques Audiard, who captivates the audience with his unique mix of gangster thrillers, trans drama and musical!
The French Film Week in Munich, which takes place from November 21st to 27th in the Theater cinema, brings these exciting films directly to the big screen. In cooperation with the Institut Français, a total of ten films are presented, including the classic "Le Dernier Métro" ("The Last Metro") from 1980. Tragically, this is the last film by Sophie Fillières, which died in the summer of 2023 at the age of only 58
A look at the films
The presence of older women in the films is particularly remarkable. In the tragicomedy "Et la fête continue!" ("The festival goes on") fights a 60-year-old nurse (Ariane Ascaride) with the challenges of family, union obligations and love. The animated film "Nina et Le Secret du Hérisson" ("Nina and the Secret of the Igel") and the surreal comedy "Une Langue Universelle" ("Universal Language") from Québec also promise exciting entertainment. All films are shown in the original version with subtitles so that the audience can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of French cinema!
