FDP Düsseldorf presents Ulf Montanus as an OB candidate for 2024!
Düsseldorf. An exciting day for the Düsseldorf FDP! On Saturday, November 3, Ulf Montanus was presented as an OB candidate for the local elections on September 14th. In an exciting session in the Cecilien-Gymnasium, the approximately 150 delegates chose the 63-year-old city council with overwhelming 84 percent of the vote-and without opposing candidates! The anticipation of the choice is increasing, because the FDP has big plans for the city!
Ulf Montanus, a well-known name in Düsseldorf, brings a colorful career: In addition to his political career, which began in 2017, he was also a moderator at QVC and even worked in TV series such as "Unter Uns". His versatility could give him a decisive advantage in the election campaign. Montanus will not only compete as an OB candidate, but also on the council list, right behind Mirko Rohloff and Christine Rachner. The question remains whether his celebrity status can help him with the voter.
FDP relies on fresh wind
With Montanus, the FDP has already presented its fourth candidate for the local elections. The CDU also sends the reigning mayor Stephan Keller into the race, while the Greens Clara Gerlach and the SPD Fabian Zachel. So the competition is great and the voters can be excited to see who will be ahead!
But that wasn't everything! At the party congress, the candidates were also elected for the Bundestag election, which will only take place two weeks after the local elections. Moritz Kracht and Lida Azarnoosh were also nominated without opposing candidates, with 83 and 76 percent of the vote. The FDP is therefore well positioned for the upcoming elections - an exciting year is imminent!
