A dramatic vehicle fire on the federal road 198 at Rechlin has caused an immense damage of around 60,000 euros! On Monday evening, around 6.20 p.m., a fire suddenly broke out in the engine compartment of a mighty Dodge Ram. The 56-year-old driver from Güstrow was on the way near the confluence with Retzow when the Inferno started.

The brave driver reacted quickly: he parked the car and brought himself to safety before the flames recorded the entire front of the vehicle and turned the car into a burning wreck. The fire brigade only had the task of extinguishing the remains and preventing the flames from attacking the Allen trees. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed, but the B198 had to be closed briefly to carry out the extinguishing work. The cause of the fire? A technical defect in the engine compartment!
