Estera Kostus: Beauty with a heart - a fundraising campaign for Horka's animal shelter!

Niesky/Horka. In an impressive act of charity, the talented holder of the beauty salon "Estera" in Niesky, launched a fundraiser for the animal shelter in Horka. The 32-year-old, who has been working on Ödernitzer Strasse since February, has decided not only to offer eyelash extensions, but also to help the needy animals. "It is a matter close to my heart to help others, especially in Christmas," she explains with passion.

For two weeks, Estera has been collecting donations that arrive both in the form of money and as a feed for dogs and cats. Their initiative was created by stimulating their animal -loving customers who themselves have animals from the shelter or accommodate their pets there during the vacation. She receives support from her daughter and girlfriend who help design the posters. "In the meantime, some boxes and cans have already accumulated with dog and cat food," she reports proudly. The transfer of the donations to the shelter should take place before Christmas, and the anticipation for the gifts collected is great.

Tierheim depends on donations

The animal shelter in Horka is dependent on the generosity of the donors in order to continue to exist. Rosemarie Zille, the head of the shelter, emphasizes how important such donations are: "We have reliable partners who support us all year round." During the Christmas season, people's willingness to help becomes particularly noticeable, which the Zilles observe every year. In order to promote the willingness to donate, you have set up three Christmas trees on which the wishes of the animals hang. Customers can fulfill these wishes by buying the corresponding items and put under the tree.

The joy of donations, however, is accompanied by a concern: "Often the donated things arrive lovingly packaged, but the animals do not appreciate that," says Zille. Nevertheless, there is hope that people donate outside of Christmas, be it directly in the shelter or in the surrounding supermarkets, where feed boxes are set up. The shelter recently received recognition and 1,000 euros for its excellent work, which further increases motivation. Estera Kostus is already planning further donations and would like to inspire other dealers to also get involved. "In the end, many small donations help with something great," she is convinced.
