Earlier Saturday morning crashed in Halstenbek! A dangerous building fire converted a single -family house in the street on the Krönrey into an inferno. Alarmed at 3:30 a.m., the firefighters initially thought of a harmless room fire. But when they arrive, the entire house was already on fire! The volunteer fire brigades from Halstenbek and Schenefeld were immediately alerted, and for both weirs the fourth major alarm within just ten days.

The drama of the mission increased when the only resident of the house was reported missing! A panicked search was initiated immediately, but luckily it turned out that he was not at home at the time of the fire. It only appeared during the deletionary mission, which enabled the firefighters to concentrate directly on combating the flames.

But the fire brigade had to adjust to the most violent resistance: inside the house the fire found a lot of flammable material and spread out rapidly, even the wooden false blanket was already affected. With up to 60 rescue workers, the firefighters fought against the delicate embers in the roof area. By removing the bricks, attempts were made to successfully suffocate the last flames. After around three hours of tireless work, operations manager Christian Riekenberg finally reported "fire".

The detachment work and clean -up work stop until the morning hours, with additional support provided by the hose car of the district fire brigade association. The fire brigade is heavily challenged, because a week ago they only fought in Schenefeld against the flames of a business. The location is truly tense and the citizens can breathe a sigh of relief that the emergency services could react quickly!
