The police are faced with the challenge of ensuring the security of the civil servants, as it is unclear who is liable in cases of accidents or injuries. Reinhard Zimmermann, the head of the police union, demanded that e-scooters for hidden investigations. In Germany, however, the experience with police scooters is mostly positive, and their use could also increase in Austria, such as the KURIER . The experiences of the state police departments are currently evaluated to make future regulations for the use of these vehicles. A decree is in preparation, which clarifies that the e-scooters are used in the civilian area, which means that the police will not use any striking e-scooters in the street scene.
