Uneasy nights for the Herdecke volunteer fire brigade! The fire brigade was used several times on Monday and the following night. A disturbing fire alarm resounded at 9:06 a.m. from a commercial bar on Nierfeldstrasse. The firefighters immediately moved out. However, the exploration quickly revealed: a gas burner had accidentally activated the alarm system! A harmless incident, the drama could be averted quickly.

But that was just the beginning. Just eight minutes later, at 9:14 a.m., the emergency services rushed to Bahnhofstrasse, alerted by an emergency call about a helpless person behind a closed door. The fire brigade once again showed its operational readiness and ran to help!

The night had further surprises. At 9:20 p.m. and later at 1:23 a.m. and 1:57 a.m., the alarm of the former retirement home on the village of Dorfweg shook the silence. But here too it was a case of 'blind alarm'! With every exploration it turned out: there was no reason to panic. The operations were handed over to a responsible contact person who took care of the local conditions.

Five missions within a few hours show the need for a quick reaction, even if the alarms were unfounded in many cases. The Herdecke volunteer fire brigade once again proved that it is ready to react quickly and effectively to emergencies at any time, regardless of whether it is supposed fires or other critical situations.
