DAB+ expansion 2024: better reception quality for all of Germany!

A milestone for the radio world in Germany: Media Broadcast has successfully completed the expansion program for the National DAB+ transmitter network for 2024! Five new station locations were put into operation this year to improve the reception of the 13 public and private programs. The new locations are Bad Tölz, Hohe Wurzel, Schleswig, Wilhelmshaven and Inntal (Ebbs). These strategic additions ensure that more and more people in Germany can receive their favorite broadcasters - and that with a room antenna!

Now over 91 percent of the population in Germany can receive the programs of the first national DAB+ Multiplex. Mobile reception supply is already over 97 percent, while motorways are almost completely covered with over 99 percent. A receiving check on www.dabplus.de/preimger enables the listeners to check the reception conditions at their place of residence. "We are getting closer to our goal of supplying Germany across the country with the first nationwide DAB+ Multiplex," says Francie Petrick, Managing Director of Media Broadcast.

The new station locations in detail

The expansion continues! In 2025, other station locations are already planned to further enlarge the network.
