Burghausen celebrates: 1000 years of history with a colorful anniversary program!

In Burghausen, the anniversary year "1000 years of first documented first mention" faces with a comprehensive program that includes numerous cultural events. As the PNP is now available for the anniversary year, and the first details have been announced.

The highlights include a “LIVE LIVE” festival, which takes place from March 9th to 23rd in historical locations, as well as the 54th International Jazzwoche Burghausen from March 25th to 30th, for which the pre-sale has already started. In addition, an interactive online city plan is created that shows popular places in Burghausen and is supplemented with video sequences.

The program for the anniversary year continues to comprise a variety of culinary and artistic events. The "1000s sculpture", which is more than three meters high in bronze look, will be a particularly striking attraction and serves as a photo motif on the city square.

Another cultural highlight is the publication of the Burghauser Anthology "I don't know how to grow up elsewhere", which combines 25 stories on 200 pages. This anthology is selected by a four -person jury in April 2024 and 1000 copies will be available.

Furthermore, work round trips are planned at Wacker Chemistry on May 3, May 31 and July 5. An ecumenical festival service will take place on May 4th in the St. Georg monastery church, accompanied musically by church choirs and an orchestra. On May 17th, concerts by music students invite you to a "Musikpicknick 1000" in the city park.

Another cultural event is the special exhibition "In the light - women in Burghausen", which will be shown in the city museum from June 6 to November 9. The original certificate for the first mention of 1025 will be presented in this exhibition until July 3.

In addition, a neighborhood festival will take place on July 5, for which individual festivals are planned in streets and squares. The Helmbrecht-Freichtlicht-Festival will be performed from August 8th to 24th. In order to further support the cultural diversity, the “Literature Live” festival, which takes place every two years and was launched in 1991, has established itself as an important event. According to burghausen.de it offers a platform for renowned authors, actors, filmmakers, musicians and critics.

With a cross -genre program and the participation of award -winning literary, the festival has made a name for itself beyond the borders of Burghausen. This year the city of Burghausen will celebrate the anniversary year with a variety of events, and the preparations are already in full swing.
