Electricity and gas prices rise: Wolfsburgers have to pay that much from January!

Wolfsburg. Alarm level red for all electricity and gas customers! From January 1, 2024, the prices for electricity and natural gas will increase in basic supply as well as in the special products of the LSW and the gas supply in the district of Gifhorn GmbH (GLG). A real shock for households that have to be prepared at higher costs!

Electricity prices increase by gross 1.37 cents per kilowatt hour. This means that with an average annual consumption of 3,500 kilowatt hours, the monthly costs will increase by around 4 euros. The LSW justifies this drastic measure with the increased procurement costs as well as the state taxes and levies that drive up the prices. Another blow for consumers who are already fighting with increasing living costs!

This is how gas prices change from 1st January

But that's not all! Gas prices are also increasing: in basic supply by gross 2.26 cents per kilowatt hour and in the special products by gross 2.27 cents per kilowatt hour. With an annual consumption of 20,000 kilowatt hours, customers have to expect a monthly additional burden of around 38 euros. The reasons for this? An increase in CO2 prices and increased network user-a combination that could blow up the budget of many households!
