Transport chaos in Ritterhude: District calls for dialogue with Autobahn GmbH!

traffic jam where the eye can go! Traffic has come to a standstill in the communities of Ritterhude and Schwanewede, and drivers are frustrated. The reason? Autobahn GmbH has blocked the rides and departures at the "Bremen-Nord" junction on Autobahn 27 for urgently needed renovation work. Since mid -October, this construction site has ensured massive traffic disruptions that have increased dramatically since the end of the autumn holidays. The situation is so tense that the effects can be felt to Osterholz-Scharmbeck.

The problems are increasing: in Ritterhude the state road 151 is closed due to the new building of the castle bridge, and the Riesstrasse also had to be closed at short notice due to a lane sack. Mayor Jürgen Kuck is horrified: "The situation is no longer acceptable for the citizens! If Autobahn GmbH had coordinated its planning in good time if we would not be in this situation." The alternative route via the Schwanewede junction cannot cope with additional traffic, and the not optimally coordinated traffic light circuits tighten the chaos even further. Christina Jantz-Herrmann, Mayor of Schwanewede, confirms: "The result: traffic jam!"

Autobahn GmbH is criticized, because such closures with the Osterholz district as a lower road traffic authority are usually coordinated in good time in order to avoid overlaps. However, this vote did not take place this time. District Administrator Bernd Lütjen is now calling for a dialogue with Cord Lüesse, the director of the responsible Northwest branch of Autobahn GmbH. "Streets have to be renovated. But the citizens rightly expect that the measures of the different builders will be coordinated properly," explains Lütjen. He plans to invite Lüesse to the district of Osterholz to better coordinate future construction work and to prevent such traffic chaos situations.
