Florian Kohfeldt, who took over the Bundesliga team of Werder Bremen at the age of 36, has undergone a moving coaching career in recent years. He originally led Werder Bremen out of the struggle for relegation and almost to the European Cup, but he was released in 2021 when the association relegated. After a season at Wolfsburg, his work there ended prematurely. After the critical phase, Kohfeldt questioned his future as a trainer and moved to the Belgian first division in Eupen. There, however, he had to end his commitment early for personal reasons, while Eupen later relegated.

In September 2024, Florian Kohfeldt took over the coaching position near Darmstadt 98, which was the penultimate in the second Bundesliga at that time.
