Future for the old confectionery factory: Citizens express their wishes!
Future for the old confectionery factory: Citizens express their wishes!
In the case of frosty winds and cutting arches, around 40 committed citizens came together on Monday evening to exchange their ideas for the new district on the former real area on Ludwig-Roselius-Allee. This tour was organized by the Bremen city planning and the commissioned architecture firm Octagon and Studio Futura and is said to act as a platform for the votes of the residents.
At the starting point of the tour, which was located on the northern border of the fenced area, the traffic situation was quickly a big topic. The participants complained about the high traffic volume and lack of structures for pedestrians and cyclists. One citizen said: "At this point, three districts meet, and there are too many cars and too few structures for pedestrians and cyclists." The intersection Vahrer Straße and Ludwig-Roselius-Allee was highlighted as particularly critical.
traffic and security in focus
The residents agreed: the traffic is a big shortcoming. In addition to the intersection already mentioned, other dangerous corners such as Vahrer Straße and Parsevalstrasse were also called. These points make it clear that not only living space acquisition, but also the security and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists are important.
The city planner Myriam Blobel encouraged the participants to actively participate in further planning processes. "You can bring your ideas on the advisory boards and committees as well as online via dipas," she said. This openness in urban planning shows that the opinions of the citizens are taken seriously to form a city district that meets the needs of the community.
design of the new district
An important point that the citizens addressed was the lack of meeting points. Many residents criticized the current situation in another stop in the tour: "There are few meeting places or restaurants, so we are a bit underdeveloped," was a comment. One proposal was the inclusion of local actors, such as the allotment gardeners, to promote social life in the district.
Another acute need that was expressed was the improvement of the neglected green areas. "The green areas have totally deteriorated," complained one participant, and many from the group agreed. Improvements in these areas are particularly important to create a livable environment. The vision provides for the creation of residence areas and open spaces that not only serve to relax, but also give space to social encounters.
The idea formulated by the city planners to combine in the new quarters also includes the consideration of productive systems in order to create a living environment. Among other things, the construction of a supermarket is planned, the building application of which has already been submitted. According to Stefan Schweck, a representative of Edeka, two medical practices should also be part of the new development.
The architects also had the idea in mind to make the new supermarket more bike -friendly. Larger and covered bicycle parking spaces are planned directly at the entrance to encourage environmentally conscious citizens to use their bikes.
Another concern of the residents was the fate of the former factory building. Many want parts of the unique facade to be preserved because they make up a significant part of the cityscape. There were also numerous suggestions, such as a small cinema, a weekly market, cheap living space in public hands, small shops and playgrounds that could bring the neighborhood alive.
The population's ideas and wishes collected are now integrated into the framework plan. Another exchange is planned for the future workshop in October, in which the residents have the opportunity to participate directly. The finalized planning will then be presented in early 2025.
