Linke fights for just health care in Bremen and Bremerhaven

The Bremen left sounds alarm! Health care in Bremen is distributed one -sided, and that has to change! With a new strategy paper you put the injustices in the spotlight.

Currently there are the chances of finding a doctor, for the citizens in Schwachhausen and the disadvantaged districts such as Gröpelingen in a strong contrast. While a pediatrician in Schwachhausen is only responsible for 270 young patients, his colleague fights in Gröpelingen with around 2000 small patients! Nelson Janßen from the left demands an immediate improvement: fewer general practitioners, midwives and psychotherapists in poorer quarters are intolerable!

medical care centers as a solution

The solution? Medical supply centers (MVZ)! Janßen sees them the answer to the pressing problems. With a start -up financing of around half a million euros, doctors from various disciplines could quickly be brought into the districts. Health centers should also arise in order to offer not only medical, but also social and legal advice!

The need in regions such as Bremerhaven and Bremen-Nord is seen particularly urgently, where there are two health centers in the pipeline. A midwife center in the south and an MVZ as a pilot project could offer the urgently needed help, especially in view of the upcoming closure of the clinic on the left of the Weser. But for the implementation, an agreement with the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians is required, which regulates where doctors can practice.
