New opening in the slaughterhouse: Bizkaya brings Basque cuisine to Findorff!

After a long -lasting closure of ten months, fabulous gastronomy returns to the Schlachthof cultural center! On Friday, November 1st at 5 p.m., the "Bizkaya" raises its doors and celebrates the revival of a proud 40-year tradition! The operators Thorsten Groß and Georg Meyer not only have a big heart, but also their roots in the Basque Country - they promise to offer a delicious combination of culture and culinary delay that combines the tastes from Findorff to the Spanish coast.

The historical water tower, which was transformed into a restaurant in 1984, is preserved in its charming, industrial look. The new operators have deliberately not renewed the furniture, because the massive wood processing and the impressive wall art of the Bremer Olaf Kock, which shows the slaughterhouse, continue to give the place its special character. Particularly gratifying: a new access via a steel staircase ensures more security and makes access easier, especially for those who find the main path to be scary. Other highlights are the planned beer garden, which is to be brought back to life next spring!

The kitchen of the Bizkaya is a feast for gourmets! In the last days before the opening, work was eagerly worked on a special menu. The specialty of the house? Tapas! These delicious snacks made of vegetables, fish and meat invite you to celebrate the get -together with family and friends. With his family recipes, Thorsten Groß brings a real hint of home to the kitchen and promises an exciting mix of Basque classics and new variations that are always surprised.

Drive, immerse yourself and enjoy - the slaughterhouse has been given a safe home thanks to committed citizens, and now the exciting journey in the Bizkaya continues! Open from Tuesday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 0 a.m., on weekends from 2 p.m. - everyone will find their place for a tasty experience!
