Trainees in Lower Saxony: Satisfaction increases, care remains weak!
Hannover/Bremen. in Lower Saxony and Bremen, the trainees show a predominantly positive picture of their training, but there are also critical voices for care!
A current study by the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) reveals that 72.2 percent of the 1,688 trainees surveyed are satisfied with their training or even very satisfied - a small increase compared to the previous year, when it was 71.4 percent. The industrial mechanics, administrative assistants as well as banking and industrial clerks are particularly happy. But not all professions radiate so much satisfaction: retail clerks, dental assistants and chefs are the most dissatisfied trainees. The reasons for this dissatisfaction lie in the training times, the remuneration and quality of the training.
Criticism of feedback and motivational culture
The study puts its finger in the wound when it comes to support during the training. While 69.8 percent of those surveyed indicate that their learning needs are often taken into account, an alarming picture is shown in feedback and motivation culture. Over half of the trainees receive personal feedback less than once a month, and only a little more than half feels motivated by their trainers. This is a clear wake -up call for those responsible!
"The quality of the training decides on the future of our specialists and thus also about the competitiveness of our economy," emphasizes Mehrdad Payandeh, the chairman of the DGB Lower Saxony. The union urgently calls for regular further and further training courses for instructors to meet the increasing requirements. The time to act is now!
