Fireworks on New Year's Eve: Where the firecracker in Schleswig-Holstein is allowed

This year, on New Year's Eve, there will be some restrictions on fireworks in Schleswig-Holstein. While traditional rockets and Böller euphoria belong in many parts of Germany at the turn of the year, the same rules cannot be found everywhere. In many cities and municipalities, specific prohibitions apply, especially near hospitals, churches and old buildings. Citizens should also take smoke and noise into account in multi -storey residential areas. As already reported, however, municipalities can introduce additional regulations to protect nature and animal inhabitants that can significantly restrict the fireworks season. For example, there is almost a complete ban on fireworks in the historic old town of Lübeck, while no special burning bans in the Hanseatic City of Flensburg have been determined, although a waiver is desired for environmental reasons, such as the City of Halle (Saale) was announced. Interestingly, however, there are no special regulations in Halle, which means that traditionally, as long as the general security requirements are observed.

In summary, it is important to find out about the applicable local regulations before the turn of the year in order to avoid inconvenience and possible punishments. The celebrations will certainly take place in a wide variety of forms at the end of December, whether with or without fireworks.
