Königstraße, Duisburg, Deutschland - shock at the Christmas market! On Sunday, November 17th, the Duisburg police discovered a 47-year-old man on the busy Königstraße who behaved suspiciously. In the hustle and bustle of the Christmas market, it was now arrested as a suspected dealer. During a routine foot patrol, the officials met the suspect and were amazed - he had several consumer units with him! There was also a fine scale and a considerable amount of cash.

The police acted quickly and provided the evidence. But the case takes a surprising turn: Despite the arrest and the clear evidence, the man was released at short notice because there was no reasons for detention. It turned out that after consultation with the Duisburg public prosecutor, he was released. Nevertheless, the suspect must now be responsible and criminal proceedings for suspected trade in narcotics are initiated.

As early as November 14th, the Duisburg police warned of unannounced controls at the Christmas market. The reason? A newly introduced knife ban on public events that came into force on October 31.
