Beelitz celebrates the Brandenburg Day in 2027: A festival for everyone!

The city of Brandenburg an der Havel triggered a good dose of excitement: After a sharp change of course, the free carriers of the daycare centers can now make suggestions for reducing excess places. This is a significant step after the city administration had originally planned to provide relief through silent closings. This was decided to ensure that all existing daycare centers remain alive, as from MAZ reported. At the same time, the city decided not to accept funding for the women's shelter, which means that women still have to bear part of their costs themselves - a total of around ten percent. This is a controversial decision that puts the voluntary assumption of additional fees on the shoulders of the needy.

In the meantime there is also good news from Beelitz: The city has been awarded the contract for the Brandenburg Day 2027 and thus secured a remarkable place in the event calendar. The decision was made by the board of trustees on Thursday and is considered a great honor for Beelitz by Mayor Bernhard Knuth. The event should take place under the motto "Brandenburg is not possible" and promises to attract around 100,000 visitors, such as rbb24 reports.

BEELITZ had already left an impression in 2022 with the successful alignment of the state garden show, in which despite Corona over 561,000 people flocked to the city. For the Brandenburg Day, the improved infrastructural conditions of the old town are to be used, which have been created by the garden show. With a budget planning of approx. 700,000 euros, however, the city is dependent on help through state grants and local donations in order to organize the event without prejudice.
