Week of participation: Information for more social contacts in old age!

Linz, Deutschland - District Administrator Achim Hallerbach has announced a pilot project to promote social contacts. This project is carried out by the health promotion of the Neuwied district, the municipality of Linz and the Senior Advisory Board. As part of the project, an information evening for the "Week der participation" will take place in the Linz community administration on January 22nd from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Hallerbach found that studies show that the lack of social contacts is already a problem in adolescence and increasingly occurs in old age. Mobility problems and health restrictions often make social participation more difficult. The aim of the project is to motivate older people to take part in local offers.

Promotion of social contacts and well -being

The offers should promote both social contacts and strengthen well -being and mental health of the participants. It is also sought to promote movement and mental fitness. The range of offers includes social, creative, cultural, movement and information offers. District Administrator Hallerbach calls on clubs and providers for active participation in the project.
