At a meeting in Neuendorf, organized by Mayor Steffen Scheller, concerned concerned citizens discussed the growing wild boar population on October 30, 2024. Many residents reported direct encounters with the animals in their gardens. Scheller promised to find solutions together with Meik Fabian from the lower hunting authority and to hold the hunting cooperative responsible. "Perhaps we can give willingness to involve Neuendorf more in the hunting," said Scheller. But he cannot impose an obligation to hunt.

damage caused by wild boars

Meik Fabian previously warned in Kirchmöser that the wild boars who are looking for the proximity of humans cannot be avoided. "There is simply no defense against wild boar," he said. The entitled to hunting could be asked for increased hunting, but real chances of success are uncertain. To avoid damage to his own land, Fabian gave practical tips and distributed information sheets. This includes valuable information on stable fences and effective scoring methods, such as chili sow or light sources. "Individual advice is also possible," says Fabian and offers his support on the phone number (03381) 58 32 07.
