600 new trees for Prenzlauer Stadtwald: Uckermark tackles!
Prenzlau, Deutschland - A green miracle in Prenzlau! On November 9, the city forest will become the scene of a spectacular plant festival, in which around 600 tree seedlings are brought into the ground. This campaign, which runs under the motto "Trees for the Uckermark", attracts nature lovers from near and far, who are involved with passion for the reforestation. Tourismus Marketing Uckermark GmbH (TMU) has launched this initiative to strengthen the forests of the region for the future and to make them more resistant to climate change.
The idea is as simple as it is awesome: since November 2023, citizens have been able to buy seedlings and thus make a personal contribution to reforestation. Families with children from Prenzlau, Berlin and other cities have participated. But companies such as VR-Bank Uckermark-Randow and the A&W Apparate & Wärmebuscherbau GmbH from Schönow also mixed vigorously. The project manager Silke Rumbles emphasizes that climate -resistant forests not only provide wood as renewable raw material, but also offer a high recovery value for locals and tourists.
companies and families hand in hand
The campaign is a prime example of cooperation between citizens, companies and the TMU, which cooperates with the city forest in the Uckermark. A particularly large number of seedlings were acquired by employees from the Prenzlau housing cooperative and the NEB Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn. This concentrated support shows that the protection and maintenance of the forests is a matter close to the heart for many. The planting campaign not only promises a greener future, but also a strong sense of community that goes beyond the borders of the region.
