Mourning for allegedly died police officers: tragedy in Lauchhammer!
in Lauchhammer, Brandenburg, on January 7th there was a tragic incident in which a 32-year-old police officer from Saxony was captured by a car during cross-border search measures. The accident occurred around 11.30 a.m. on Bockwitzer Straße when the police officer wanted to control a suspicious, presumably stolen vehicle.
Despite immediate medical help and the use of a rescue helicopter, the official at the scene of the accident succumbed to his serious injuries. The policeman leaves his partner and daughter. In the meantime, three suspects have been temporarily arrested, but the identity of which is still unclear.
Investigations and reactions
The exact course of the incident has not yet been finally clarified. Among other things, it remains unclear whether the driver of the car accelerated during the police check. Experts from the DEKRA were consulted for the reconstruction of the accident in order to advance the investigation. Brandenburg's police chief Oliver Stepien commented on the incident and announced mourning and attaching a funeral floral for the Brandenburg police.
Inner Minister Katrin Lange and Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke expressed her sympathy. In addition, a mourning flag for all of the Brandenburg police is ordered, while the emergency vehicles are equipped with funeral floral.
