The largest emergency generator for civil protection was ceremoniously handed over in Pritzwalk. Mayor Ronald Thiel and his team received the 80-kilowatt device from AVS Aggregatebau GmbH. Financed by the disaster protection program "Kats lighthouses" of the State of Brandenburg, the city is now well equipped for large-scale power outages. As early as 2023, two smaller generators were purchased to increase security of supply.

In Wittenberge there was a spectacular flood protection exercise, in which mobile protective walls were built along the promenade. Emergency forces from the technical relief organization and the city administration practiced an emergency in order to be able to react quickly at levels from seven meters. These regular exercises are crucial to strengthen the cooperation between the authorities and to protect the region from flooding.

Perleberg: From boxing rings and new owners

Perleberg is all about sport and business handover! The 16-year-old boxer Vanessa Strecker is fighting at the U18 championships in Cologne and thus sets a sporty exclamation mark for the region. After her success in the U17 class, she now competes against older opponents and hopes to expand her medal collection.

In the meantime, the Gottschalk travel agency in Perleberg changes the owner. After 34 years, Liesa Gottschalk hands over her life's work to the young Lise Bottas Teles da Silva. Mayor Axel Schmidt congratulated the new owner and presented a lucky hufeisen to celebrate the day. The travel agency remains open on Monday to Friday, with longer opening times from January.

animal successes and historical memories

The 70th Elb-Havel show in Glöwen attracted animal lovers with around 500 animals. From rabbits to pigeons - the variety was impressive. The best breeders were awarded for their outstanding achievements, including Thomas Heinke for his dwarf ducks and Steve Piers for his chickens. The show once again underlined the high level of animal breeding in the region.

In Perleberg, a bronze model of the former Sankt Nicolai Church was unveiled. Numerous citizens gathered to marvel at the work of art that is reminiscent of the historical importance of the church. Mayor Axel Schmidt and the Perleberg Citizens' Association played a central role in realizing this project, which keeps the history of the city alive.
