Medieval architecture: Discoveries in Freyenstein on November 19!
Freyenstein, Deutschland - An exciting event is imminent! On Tuesday, November 19, the lecture series "Preignitz - Central Archaeological Places" will go into the next round in the new Freyenstein Castle. The renowned speakers Tilo Schöfbeck and Gordon Thalmann will shed light on the fascinating topic of "medieval house construction in northeast Germany". An absolute must for those interested in history and architecture!
The story of Freyenstein is as mysterious as it was fascinating: in 1287 the residents left the settlement, and since then there have been many secrets to ventilate. Archaeological excavations in the 1980s and again in 2007 have already brought valuable knowledge of the field stone cellars of the houses at that time. But what did the medieval buildings really look like? While numerous houses from the 13th and 14th centuries are documented in southern Germany, many questions remained unanswered in northern Germany and especially in Prignitz.
fascinating insights into the building culture
Schöfbeck and Thalmann bring fresh archaeological and building historical knowledge that re -draw the image of the medieval cities and houses, including Freyenstein. The lecture begins at 6 p.m., but at 5 p.m. visitors can take a tour of the impressive Freyenstein church. The physical well -being is also taken care of: an evening snack awaits the guests. The district of Prignitz recommends registration under [Email Protected] or 033967 60057, but spontaneous visitors are also welcome!
