Brandenburg Olympic stars enjoy a relaxed weekend in the Elbe Resort

An unforgettable weekend for Brandenburg's sports heroes! 20 of the 42 Olympicics and Paralympian who compete in Paris enjoyed a break in the Elbe Resort Alte Oilmühle in Wittenberge. Among them is the double Olympic champion Jacob Schopf, who traveled with his girlfriend Emily Schilf to relax at sauna, massage and walks. "It is a great gift to spend time with the partners," enthuses the 25-year-old, who despite relaxation did not do without his training and jogged ten kilometers.

Olympic participants enjoy the time

The event, which has already been canceled twice for Corona, was a complete success. Beate Petzold from Brandenburger Sporthilfe and CEO Holger Rupprecht were happy about the great participation and the successful mix of Olympicics and Paralympian. "We have a competent partner in Jan and Lutz Lange who have covered the costs. The athletes are enthusiastic about the location and the extensive range," said Rupprecht.

Among the participants was also the sports shooter Josefin Eder, who came with her boyfriend Fabian Liebig, an Olympic starter in a modern pentathlon. "Such weekends are important because we, as a competitive athlete, do not spend much time together," explains Eder, who has now processed her disappointment with the 30th place at the Olympics. Shopf also emphasizes the excellent conditions for athletes in Brandenburg, but sees need for improvement for the coaches who are often in the shadow of the athletes.
