In the heart of Werder (Havel), a new educational campus is being built, which bears the first fruits in autumn 2023 with the opening of three educational institutions - a daycare center, a primary school and a comprehensive school. This important project, which is located in the Glindow district, is promoted by the Hoffbauer Foundation and has attracted the attention of the city and district. The recent construction site festival on October 17 gave interested parties the opportunity to find out about the progress of the construction project.

A special feature of the project are the impressive investments of a total of 60 million euros, which are planned for the construction of the new buildings. This sum is mainly applied by the Hoffbauer Foundation, supported by the city of Werder (Havel) and the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark. In the event of guided tours through the construction site site, visitors were able to take a look at the dimensions of the new comprehensive school and the campus sports hall, which will make it possible to offer high-quality education and sporting activities under one roof.

The construction work is carried out in several phases, whereby the second construction phase should be completed by summer 2026. In this section, the facilities for the comprehensive school, a sports hall and living rooms for the staff who work on campus are created. The Evangelical Comprehensive School will move to its own building by the 2026/27 school year, while it is currently using the primary school's infrastructure.

The campus will also house a spacious sports hall that will not only be available for school sports, but also for regional sports clubs. This combination of education and leisure activities strengthens the attractiveness of the area and will promote community life.

Frank Hohn, the CEO of the Hoffbauer Foundation, already sees great success through the initiatives on the campus: "The Hoffbauer Foundation sets milestones for the development of Werder. With our educational offers, we secure the future and attractiveness of the growing city," he said. These positive feedback are a sign that the initiative encounters lively interest.

The first two school years of the Evangelical Elementary School are supported by the city, which also guarantees a funding for the construction of a competition arena with 400 spectator places. This arena will expand the sporting possibilities on campus and could potentially attract events at regional level.

The new campus offers an extensive range of educational offers for children. At the moment, 120 children learn in the Evangelical Campus Kita Werder, while the elementary school is geared towards a future number of students of up to 312. This school is operated as an all -day facility with an additional hoarding system that supports parents in the compatibility of family and work.

With a capacity for up to 470 students, the Evangelical comprehensive school Werder will also take its place in the educational landscape in the long term. In this school year, the comprehensive school has already welcomed its second year and still uses the premises of the primary school until its own buildings are completed.

Werder's first deputy, Christian Große, spoke of the challenges and the long preparation process, which has led to today's project in the past seven years. "It was about getting a new color in our educational landscape and adding the infrastructure in Glindow," said Große. This development will not only contribute to increasing the quality of education, but also upgraded the district.
