Spectacular chase: car thief to escape!

Potsdam-Mittelmark. Autodieb with a stolen Audi SQ7 challenged the police for a wild hunt over the A2, A10 and A115 motorways. The man who had stolen a vehicle in Lower Saxony ignored the stop signals of the officials and raced away at a breakneck speed. He caused several accidents that left a total damage of over 150,000 euros.

The persecution began when the motorway police discovered the Audi on the A2. But instead of facing the authorities, the driver pushed through a traffic jam and even took the Michendorf rest area as an alternative route. There he crashed into another vehicle, but did not let himself be stopped and continued his escape. The situation escalated when the Audi finally got into another traffic jam and collided with several vans and semitrailers, which made the vehicle unusable.

Police helicopter in use

The fleeting perpetrator still managed to turn to the A115, but near the Saarmund/Langerwisch airfield, his escape was over. He had to park the SUV on the hard shoulder and tried to escape on foot. But the police were quickly on hand: a helicopter and numerous emergency services surrounded the man who was caught by Beelitz police officers a little later. A drug racing test showed that he was under the influence of narcotics. Investigations are now underway for accidents, illegal car racing and stealing. The Audi was ensured and the police documents the accidents caused, while the investigation continues to progress.
