Brandenburg's women's shelter in Lauchhammer: barrier -free protection for everyone!

An important step for the protection of women: The women's shelter in Lauchhammer shines in new splendor after three and a half years! Thanks to an impressive financing of over 800,000 euros, which was provided by the federal investment program "Together against Violence on Women" and state and district resources, a barrier-free family place was created. This means that women with physical restrictions can now also find refuge!

Minister of women Ursula Nonnemacher emphasizes the importance of this initiative: "Protection of women from violence is a focus of the state government. We have increased the promotion of women's shelters to almost three million euros-a clear sign against violence on women!" The women's shelter in Lauchhammer, operated by the FRA.KI.MA - association against domestic violence, now has the opportunity to record up to two children with their mothers and thus offer an urgently needed retreat.

modernization and security

The renovation included the demolition of an old cultivation and the creation of new, barrier-free premises. All community facilities are now easily accessible on the ground floor, and security has been significantly improved by a new fence around the outdoor facilities. The new windows ensure a bright and inviting ambience.

Brandenburg sets a strong sign of the protection of women and children with this project. In the coming years, the federal program will implement a total of four projects that create five additional family places and improve accessibility in three other protective devices. There are currently 21 protective devices for women in Brandenburg who offer urgently needed help.
