Infrastructure projects secure train connection Velten-Neuruppin by 2027

An important step for the railway infrastructure in Brandenburg was carried out today! The Ministry of Infrastructure and State Planning, together with DB Infrago and DB Energie GmbH, signed the implementation and financing contract. This contract is crucial for the progress of the i2030- infrastructure "Prignitz-Express Velten-Neuruppin", which aims at the commissioning of a clock compression of two moves per hour by 2027.

Overall, the planning of the service phases 5 to 7, which focus on the execution planning and the tender documents, should cost around 12.7 million euros. These financial resources are initially made available by the State of Brandenburg before permanent financing is established by the municipal traffic Finance Act (GVFG). Minister Rainer Genilke emphasized the importance of these measures: "With the signing of the contract, we create the prerequisite for complying with the ambitious schedule." This will avert impending delays in bauralization until well after 2027.

sustainability in view

In addition, the contract also includes important environmental and species protection aspects as well as compensation measures that must be implemented before the project is implemented. This shows that in addition to modernizing the railway lines, protection of the environment also plays a central role. The ministry and the companies involved are aware of responsibility and want to not only promote mobility with this project, but also implement sustainable solutions, such as Explortal Logistics
